Walmart is a B&M store that has some of the lowest prices on food. People shop there because of that.
All you can get on SNAP is food items and seeds for edible plants. What do they hope to achieve?

I live in a HUD subsidised retirement home and I'm entirely supported by Social Security. It's enough to get me by and leave a little left over so I can save up for gadgets.
I don't get food stamps or SNAP but a number of people here do and they've made presentations here a few times that let me know I'm eligible for it. I don't get it because I don't need it.
I have Prime and pay full price for it. I signed up for Prime shortly after it became available, long before it included videos and books, etc. and was just about free shipping. It's saved me a lot of money.
I don't know enough about SNAP to know if they offer things on Prime that can be bought with SNAP but I'm not sure that's the point. I heard about this yesterday and I told a couple of my neighbors who are in the SNAP program and they're considering it for themselves. I suspect some of the others will be interested as well when they hear about it.
I'm not sure I want to sign up for SNAP just to get a Prime discount but I have to admit that crossed my mind.
All you rich folks have distorted ideas about poverty. It's wonderful.
