Our governor has initiated a battle with the city of Austin (or arguably, the other way around). He has called Austin the "People's Republic of Austin".
Understand that the city of Austin would probably be more comfortable in California, and that the city's unofficial slogan of "keep Austin weird" is faithfully practiced.
However, it is the city where my daughter and her wife lives, and which I love in spite of and because of it's weirdness. It is somewhere between a bad sheep and a galvanizing force.
So, for now, I am sitting back to enjoy the battle. Remember, Texas was the state that sent the Texas Rangers to arrest democatic congressmen who left to state to stop bills that they didn't have enough votes to stop (lack of quorum). Just gotta smile sometimes.

I think the next town over has a contract to sell their waste water to a fracking company.
Just don't tell my mom that. I don't want to hear the fracking lecture again.
Austin also has Willie.
Hey wanna meet in Luckenbach for a Lone Star?
*For those not in Texas or Oklahoma, fracking is a type of drilling for oil that uses water.
