If you are (or where) using our screensaver add-in, then your Kindle must be jail broken.

There is a very easy way to control (prevent) Amazon from pushing an update to your device described in Step #7 of the jail break instructions.

There was a discussion last year at about the time of the current jail break release about making other of our add-ins 'bridge' the update.

The bottom line was:
Technically possible but not practical.

Note: there is one thing (often missed) that reduces the pain level:
The Mobileread Installer (MrPI) is a batch mode installer.
You can put all desired update_*.bin name format packages in /mrpackages and only have to trigger MrPI once.
Unlike the Amazon updater, it can handle an entire batch of packages at the same time.
