I thought that was weird, so I tried it another way. I turned on the backlight and then put the device to sleep manually using the back button...and the backlight stayed on again.
Is this normal? I didn't realize this happened the first time and it completely drained my battery overnight. Very weird. Thanks in advance!

Hello,
I and others here have had this problem. Try these two steps.
1. FULLY power off the device and restart it. Note that you need to fully turn it off, not just put it into sleep mode. To do this, you will need to continue to hold the power button for several seconds after it goes to sleep, until it powers off. Many users found that this fixed the issue.
2. Downgrade to an older firmware, re upgrade to the latest version, and then carry out step 1 immediately if the problem still persists. This fixed the problem for me.
