Any reason why a column that would normally show on the tag browser suddenly not show?

I have checked tweaks, look and feel, preferences and confirmed that the column is comma separated shown in the tags browser. I also checked and confirmed that there are actually tags in the column (they didn't get wiped out accidentally). Job Spy isn't protecting the column and it is editable in the edit metadata. I can upload the tags as shelves on Goodreads, and can edit them individually with edit metadata. Still I can't get the tags browser to show them.

Any ideas?
