Hello everyone
I admin I've been lurking for some time while I worked out which e-reader to purchase. Had a look at the Sony Reader when I was last in Philadelphia in December, but the sales assistant didn't know much and when I checked online there didn't appear to be much content available outside of the USA.
I checked again last week and saw that there was quite a lot of content now available. Ordered the 505 on Monday from Waterstones (for delivery to Spain), but still waiting for it. They can't even give me the tracking number (which is really strange - the first time a company that sells online can't do that!). Should be here any time soon - although of course I can't verify it.
A little miffed that the Sony Connect is only available in the USA. Looked like there was quite some content there. The Waterstones ebook website is abysmal and very expensive. I can't beleive you have to go into advanced search everytime you want to look for an ebook (since otherwise you search both print and electronic media).
The good news is that there are lots of alternative places to buy content in EPUB format. I'm a little confused when you see both EPUB and Adobe formats listed, I thought they were both Adobe and I'm not sure if the 505 can read both DRM formats.
I've checked online against my very extensive book collection and lots of them are available as ebooks as well. The WHSmiths store looks like it has quite a lot of content and it's easy to search.
Oh well, I've gone on way too much a first post. I'm glad this kind of forum is available - I've seen lot's of interest things around the site! Great work!
All the best,
Emmet
