The combination of Kindle model and firmware version is one of those which had 'active content' documents disabled.
(It should only be disabled on gen. 8 devices, but Amazon/Lab126 is staffed by humans, they make mistakes.)

Install (using MrPI) the booklet version of KUAL.
You already have it, it is in the same archive you got the 'active content' version from.
