Personally, for me, it is the darker text contrast that is the most important aspect to e-reading—it is here where the Voyage and older iterations of kindles win out for me. Unfortunately, the Oasis (at least in its first production cycle) has a bit of a more faded contrast, but this may have changed with different production cycles. If the Oasis brings out a darker text contrast and offers a vegan option for the cover, consider me in for the Oasis.
Personally, the weight issue is moot for me, as I have held and still hold heavier physical books for reading (keeps my arms nice and toned : ) I even have patients with joint conditions in their hands that find the heavier PW to be just fine—but I guess this boils down to everyone's lifestyle. I am more than happy with the battery life, but nothing compares to the battery life of my ol' kindle keyboard.
