  1. Not so, I have found the Amazon links for the K2, DX, and K3 models, the ca update packages are still on the Amazon server.
  2. The set of root certificates is the same for all browsers. Just extract the files from a recent Debian packaging
  3. The first link you provided describes an Android based system, your grayscale Kindles do not run Android (only the color Kindles do).
  4. Just having new root certificates will not fix your Kindle's support for TLS.
