Just curious, but has this been tested in court? I can see copyright applying, but I thought that once garbage is placed on the curb/dump, it is "public property" (from TV crime shows? So if I am at the dump, and I take some books without covers (our dump allows garbage picking), have I broken a law? When I read it? When I sell it?
