From my current job (may have posted this before

) - one very wet server sitting on a very wet floor (the allegedly-disconnected air con had dumped a load of water over it). Call the manufacturers to get an engineer out with enough bits so we can try and get a duplicate server built.
1st line support person asks me what happens when I turn it on.
I explain about the water.
They ask me if it beeps when I turn it on.
I explain some more about the water.
They ask me to turn it on and see what it does.
I explain that I've always been taught that mixing water and electricity is not usually considered to be a good thing, so no - I won't be turning it on.
A glimmer of understanding for a moment... and then they ask what happens if I turn it on.
Repeat a few more times.
Then they ask what happens... and interrupt themselves saying I can't turn it on because of the water.
After 5 minutes of explaining I wasn't going to turn the sodding (or even sopping) thing on, they agreed to send someone out.
The HR manager stuck her head round the door near the end of it, and suggested I ask the chap on the phone to come and turn it on...
