Ricky, I think it would still be within the bounds of being a good neighbor to ask the guy to get the computer out from under the desk, as your back is bothering you. Just say "I'm not supposed to go under desks right now" or something like that. I only mention this because your back probably won't be that much better when the RAM arrives.
(Yes, I've had to cover the difference between RAM and disk space many, many times, especially when I was teaching computer classes for a living. I used to liken it to the difference between space in your office shelves, drawers, etc, and how much space you have on your desk to actually work, but now the word "desktop" has come into the language to mean the part of the screen littered with icons, so I'm not sure that would work anymore.)
I've never been able to see the attraction of Twitter. Maybe I'm too paranoid, maybe my self-esteem is too low, but why would anyone want constant little updates of what I'm doing all the time? I'm amazed that anyone reads my posts here, and at least here they're sort of part of a conversation.
