I'm sorry I did not had time earlier to give you step by step answer. Did you read my post above or/and the instruction of your e-reader?

Here it is picture by picture:
1. Launch the default onyx launcher, go to Applications. Long tap on some application, I did this here on "SuperMemo", until the pop-up menu appears:

2. Choose the "App Optimize Settings":

Whatever you choose it will always be applied to that application no matter what launcher you are using. You seems to be unhappy with the defaults applied by your e-reader.

It has nothing to do with a launcher application. It is specific Onyx extension.
