Super points can now be redeemed for some big-5 publisher ebooks (UK/NZ/AU)

I noticed yesterday that Hachette books can now be purchased using super points in New Zealand, and it seems to be the same in the UK and Australia. Random House and Penguin books could already be purchased with super points in New Zealand, but now that seems to have been extended to the UK and Australia too.

I've also noticed that Kobo have not had many store-wide 5x bonus days recently and so it has been harder to accumulate lots of super points. Maybe the two things are linked. In any case I think it is an interesting change, since Hachette in particular have been very resistant to any sort of retailer discounting in the past.
