BREATHING TEST: Check Your Breathing Capacity
1. Q. Count your breaths per minute.
A. If your breaths are 14 or lower per minute, you are normal. But note down the decrease in breaths per minute after taking breathing exercises.
2. Q. How efficient are your lungs?
a. Take a deep breath and time how long you can hold your breath.
b. Breathe "in" and "out" as far as you can and measure your chest in each position.
A. Your lung efficiency is adequate:
a. If you can hold 45 seconds or more.
b. If difference in two chest measurements is 5-7.5 centimeter (2-3 inch) or more.
