Thank you. You know, I've done a (very) unofficial "survey" of e-books provided by commercial publishers, and it appears that about 97.632% of them are created by Calibre. (Remember, of course, that 87.5% of all statistics are made up on the spot.) In a just world, that means that if Kovid were given 1 cent for each e-book sold that was created by his free program, he'd be able to buy that island in the Caribbean he has always wanted. Or whatever it is that he has always wanted.

Unfortunately, though, I came here to whine a little bit. I create e-books (more like e-articles, actually) in epub-2 format which I use in my classes, and have always included an MP3 file as part of the article. Yeah, I know, audio and video are not supported in epub-2; but I'm not publishing them, I'm just using them for myself. These MP3 files have always played from within Calibre.

Well, I've discovered that somewhere between versions 2.71 and 2.79, that play functionality has disappeared. I just did a little experimentation, and I installed 2.82, 2.83, and 2.84, as well as the aforementioned 2.79, and none of them will play the audio.

If that is intentional, so be it; I'll just stick with the 2.71. But I thought I'd mention it in case it was what's euphemistically known as "an unintended side-effect."

Thanks for your great program!
