Have you tried running Firefox in with extensions disabled. Most of my Firefox 'problems' are caused by extensions. I gave up trying to figure which extensions were the culprits, instead I installed two extra extensions - Open in Chrome and Open in Edge

My Chrome and Edge installs have minimal add-ons, whereas Firefox has a lot.

@Kovid - what controls the columns displayed for a book when I click on it and I get the Read and Download buttons. It doesn't appear to equate with the Look & Feel->Book Details settings, nor with what I see in Book Information - the non-modal dialogue that shows everything, except empty columns.

My usage of the server is to look at an author's list of books and at the book metadata. My ideal would be to see the columns selected within the Look & Feel->Book Details tab, in the order nominated. With display time options for Show All and Show Empty Columns.

BTW I solved my backspace problem, it seems Google removed it around June last year, in August they released the Go Back With Backspace extension
