@knc1, the case looks like it has more hardware than the kindle itself!
The number of connections on the connector between the case and the oasis always surprised me, I'm half convinced that its something related to that, but I'm not an expert, that's for sure.
I see several unpopulated pads on page 14/24, that I think could be serial, the one right above the battery cable looks the most like the existing ones.
But that big battery looks like it has 8 pins labelled, so that's probably not it.
