It's right that some parts of the e-books 's technology are french, but the habits of e-reading are definitively a recent phenomen for the french readers (and maybe the european).

I'll grant you that Sony hasn't had a large European market penetration until recently - but that's Sony's fault. And I'm glad that the French are learning to enjoy reading ebooks on e-ink devices. I was just pointing out that there are other ways to enjoy reading ebooks - desktop computers, laptop computers, large-screen cellphones and pda devices - so the idea of "reading" from an electronic device - for pleasure - shouldn't have been all that new and unusual.
