Thanks for your answer, knc1.

Search engines provided me with only 2 threads here in this forum.
I don't have the tools and knowledge to deal with SMD.

So my way to fix it would be buying a broken Paperwhite 2 (to get the controller) and paying someone to help me with the work.

I guess it is time to say goodbye to this Kindle.
