Some are, some are not.*
You should be able to find if a particular document is
not copy protected on its description page.
I wrote that as I did because I have only seen notices when DRM
is not applied to the document.
I.E: No notice that it isn't copy protected, it probably is.
*) The active content documents on the Kindle development forum are not copy protected.
(Heck, they aren't even closed source.
