After much aggravation it seems that Overdrive for Win Desktop (not the Win Store OD app) must be installed at the time of download. The .odm file can then be opened and downloaded in full. So I was able to start over with Hitchhiker and Feed and get the full downloads, but Dorian Gray has expired so the .odm I got on 4/27 is apparently useless. Live and learn I guess.
