If these were OLD entries, then something:
1) deleted them (using the OS)
2) interfered with the "dirtied" (metadata) flag in the DB which triggers the regeneration when anything related to that book, changes.
3) Cloud backup/sync ? clashed with who is the
valid. version
4) Something else
