I was originally trying to figure out whether your comment about George Carlin and Richard Pryor being the epitome of unsophisticated humor was meant to be an ironic example of Poe's law or was just ill-informed. I don't expect every comedic bit that either comic created to be considered sophisticated, but I'm pretty sure that they would not have received the honors and awards (including Mark Twain Prize for American Humor and Grammy Hall of Fame for both of them) they did if their bodies of work were primarily unsophisticated.

As far as froggie dollies are concerned, I think that anyone who has seen the National Lampoon cartoon knows, "That's not funny, that's sick!"
