I stopped at Sleeperz quite often, which I thought was pretty good, albeit quite basic, and reasonably priced. It's a very modern hotel near the train station.
The other one I liked was the Grey Street Hotel . It's even nearer to the city centre and very nice indeed. It would probably be a little more expensive than the other one but in one of the beautiful old buildings on Grey Street.
If you want a special meal, I can recommend Blackfriars. It isn't cheap, but it's in a beautiful setting and the food was great last time I ate there.

Thank you! Both hotels look great and there isn't a big difference in price, so I might go for Grey Street, since it looks a bit more luxurious. Blackfriars looks great, though when I'm on my own I always hesitate to go out to dinner alone.
