Confused yet? Not surprising. Okay, here's the details (I found it here). Did you know that a week from Saturday (April 29 for the calendar-challenged) is the third annual Independent Bookstore Day? While you might not normally go to your local bookstore for audiobook downloads, book stores would like to change that by partnering with Libro.fm. They style themselves as an audiobook store for independent book stores. This year participating book stores will have cards that will give you access to free downloads from Libro.fm. I'd recommend calling ahead to make sure your local shop is participating. The titles being offered are:
- The Women in the Castle, by Jessica Shattuck (Harper Audio)
- A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again, by David Foster Wallace (Hachette Audio)
- Brain Rules, by John Medina (Pear Press)
- Shadow House #1:The Gathering, by Michael Northrop (Scholastic)
- Tombquest #1: Book of the Dead, by Michael Northrop (Scholastic)
- Hachette Audio Story Sampler
- Penguin Random House Audio Sampler
I plan on pairing this with Libro.fm's new monthly membership trial for $0.99. Don't forget to mark your calendars.
Enjoy!

Well, it's midnight somewhere, and the freebies have begun. It turns out you don't have to visit the bookstore to get a download code (at least for most of them). The books can be found on a curated list
here. All of the titles are currently showing free, except for "The Women in the Castle." Hopefully they will correct this one some time soon.
