The biggest failing with nook is not being able to download eBooks without a nook or nook for PC. That and the DRM is not compatible with most Readers using ADE. So unless you strip DRM, can download eBooks from B&N, and don't mind reading in of the apps, there's no reason to buy eBooks from B&N.
