At UPS, a Ground customer is handled by the same customer service rep as any other shipping method. At Fedex, they have an entirely separate department for Ground. A request for a returned call will be ignored for 4 or 5 days.
USPS Priority Mail usually costs only a little more and arrives much faster. I keep telling and telling people to stop using Fedex Ground. NO ONE LISTENS!

I worked at a mom-and-pop shipping center once. We took for Fed Ex, Fed Ex Ground, and UPS. Fed Ex Ground is a completely different animal. The paperwork was (at that time) horrific, compared to the other two. And the support for Fed Ex Ground for even us, as a ship center, was awful.
