I've read of someone who had to sleep on top of the piles near the ceiling, since he had no more floor space. He ended up succumbing to the fumes that the books gave off and dying up there. I'm not sure if "baka" applies in that case, since his mania seemed to be severe enough that it was probably a medical condition. Perhaps you could apply "baka" to those who ignore the bowing of their floor under the weight of the books, and keep adding until the floor collapses.
