PW-3 is a 7th. generation device.
Policy change only affects 8th. generation devices.

Compare the build numbers of your PW-3 build and your KT-3 build.
The firmware version will be the same but: (build ID number) will be different.

I will leave the note I added this morning because of that "I can't remember" problem with recovering a bricked German PW-?, the firmware update packages where different that time.
