This book started out so well and then went kaput. Many words but little action until the last 60 pages. I know this was truly written for a YA but there didn't seem to be enough to keep a teenager interested and turn pages. Young adults are easily distracted. World was unique and with several unanswered questions to encourage reading the next in series. There seemed to be a lot of back and forth with the romantic subplot. While the ending was exciting with a surprise or two, the long build-up doesn't leave me with a that-was-a-good-book feeling. Unsatisfying. Rated D+ [2 stars].
Next I'll complete the Rhiannsu series with
The Empty Chair by Diane Duane.
