A *VERY* good series of books. Much better then the recent teen-aged-angst-driven TV series. I've read all but the newest of the series (have to wait till they come down considerably in price).

Be warned, however. There are 31 books by my count in all the different trilogies, duologies, and quartets, plus 4 more in his being-written books that will be the chronological ending of the entire Shannara story.

I enjoyed most of the books, although his "jump 100 years and go thru the same sorts of things as before with the children/grandchildren/cousins of the last group of books" rubbed on me a couple of times, but not enough to want to stop reading his books.

And his Shannara universe series like The Voyage of the Jerle Shannara and The Dark Legacy of Shannara can be a little slow at times, but quite excellent.

So, highly recommended.
