Not only does it take a lot of resources to compute a large font the first time, it requires a lot of memory space for the font cache.

Once cached, then it is just a simple look-up for the precomputed graphic and hence not enough resource demand to crash the system.

Or so I expect.

When the log file gets posted, it should be possible to determine if the problem was a passing system glitch or if the device needs to be returned for exchange.
