Thanks for all of the help with the answers.
To summarize:
- Device installs a firmware update.
- User panics.
- User presses the 'never touch' button.
Like it or not, the user just reverted their Kindle to stock (non jail broken) state.
There is nothing we or the user can do about it, except learn to like it.
