That doesn't necessarily mean that the jb did not survive. After upgrading to a new fw it is normal and expected that the hacks stop working; you have to reinstall the hacks (using mobile read package installer) to make it work.

Edit: I see that knc1 and others have commented your posts...
So, hoping to make it clearer.
  • The jb does survive to upgrades. So far, it is true up to the latest currently available firmware. It is true for your update also, as far as we can tell.
  • But, it is normal, standard procedure (because how the upgrade procedure works) that all the hacks stop working after an upgrade.
That is: the jb survives, but the hacks don't - because the upgrade does not overwrite the jailbreak that is in a separate partition, but it does overwrite the hacks.
  • Since the jb survives, however, it is no problem because all you have to do is to reinstall all the hacks. With most recent firmwares, and I am talking about at least 1-yrs old firmware if not more, you HAVE to use mrpi for this because putting hack .bin files in main directory does not work anymore.
But I would be really, really surprised if you didn't know this, since it is written anywhere in the jb threads and instructions, and as I said isn't new stuff at all: it has been like that for a very long time
  • So I repeat: all you had to do after upgrading to the new firmware - and it's written everywhere - was to re-install all the hacks, simply putting all the .bins together in the mrpi directory and running the mrpi kual plugin (KUAL still worked since the jb was not gone)
  • BUT at this point - I missed that part - you did a device reset. Something that the instructions and a very long list of posts all around the forums say you never ever must do. In the instruction that may be even written in red characters if I recall correctly.
THAT, my friend, does indeed remove the jailbreak as long as the hacks.
I would tell you that you have to start over the entire jb process, except that you have now updated to a fw version that does not allow downgrading, at least for now.

So yes, you are now screwed, but you weren't after fw upgrade. If only you had read all the instructions... that's a shame!
