But it's a potentially dangerous choice if you want to read epubs and want to jail-break. Kobo is far more "open." But I can see why the OP might prefer a Kindle as long as it can be jail-broken.
He also said most of his books were from Amazon. So yes a Kindle and Paul's suggestion is awesome.
