Spoiler:
Another string of cases for PI Jordan Lacey…

Once a formidable policewoman, Jordan Lacey now runs a knick-knack shop, selling curios and whatnot to make ends meet.

And she’s also Latching’s only Private Investigator.

It’s a quiet, seaside town so cases as of late have been small things that the police overlook – missing pets, for example.

But in the space of a few days, Jordan’s cases have been a little more odd than usual.

The WI won an award at a local show – in home catering. But a thief, not only stole the show-stopping wedding cake, but also trashed the tent, food and all.

However, the lady who made the wedding cake, Mrs Fenwick, couldn’t care less about the cake.

She wants Jordan to follow her husband – the local councillor Adrian Fenwick – as she’s sure that he’s having an affair.

But soon Jordan starts to notice thousands of pounds being dumped into her bank account.

She charges for her time but not that much.

Not only that, but none of her cases are adding up –even the supposed cheating councillor is squeaky clean.

Then one night, she wakes up to hear the blearing of sirens and the smell of smoke.

Unable to resist her curiosity, she heads to the scene of a doused fire – and instead discovers a body.

It’s Adrian Fenwick.

And to Jordan’s utter horror, the police’s main suspect for the arson-murder is herself...

Can she clear her name and solve the case for good?
