I really loved this book. The audio performance was well done too. I read recently where someone said that they liked it as a kid but not as an adult. I've gotta disagree.. but perhaps I like my books a bit less cerebreal. I actually enjoy many "young" adult titles, Patterson's Maximum Ride books are great.
I especially enjoyed the 20 minutes or so at the end of the book where Card talks about the opus of the book, how it started from an idea to a short story to becoming a prequel to Speaker for the Dead.
One interesting thing he said, the difference between SF and Fantasy is the SF has rivets and Fantasy has trees.

That's an interesting way of distinguishing the two
