@maybedog - for future reference

You can mass delete one or more formats from selected books with the Alt+Del (remove selected formats) option.

Select the books (the mark tool can be useful here), press Alt+Del, select the formats to be deleted, press Enter.

You could also do it via the Tag Browser, but IMO less efficiently/conveniently.
