I have a kindle 3 that I would like to have the best firmware to keep my purchased kindle books in the simplest format that I can also use with calibre.

Could someone please enlighten me as to pros / cons of different firmware revisions for this and what I should use.

I am looking at imaging with 3.4 with jailbreak image.

Are there any disadvantages to using this version for my intended purpose?
