CC can use SD cards in Android 4.2. The best way to choose the folder on the SD card is to use "go to folder" to go to "/" (the root) then navigate down from there. This avoids spelling errors and other android strangenesses related to how SD cards are mounted. Thank you very much; I hate it when the solution/answer is "simple" when I did lots of messing around to find/get something working.

I even had moved CC to the SD card! Now have the books loaded & the navigating from "/", I found that the path was "/mnt/external_SD/ebooks". Also hate it when a folder has 2 different names under different apps as per your description of "strangeness" in how SD cards are mounted or named.
