Keep in mind I'm not an expert, but here's my opinion. You may take it or leave - as you see fit:
There may be a possibility of that battery expanding due to having gotten wet. IF that happens, you're going to have a gooey electronic mess. It could even be a fire hazard.
I think you should immediately remove that battery and search for a new one.
