This is a good idea, but there are some hurdles:
- Choosing a few good (bad) PDFs
- Deciding which conversions to try
- Displaying the results
The PDFs and their conversions would need to be postable here, so public domain would be best. Note that any publication authored entirely by US gvmt employees has no copyright, so there are millions of PDFs to choose from.
The conversions would be selected by who ever wanted to participate, so perhaps this isn't an issue.
As daffy4u says, screenshots are only available directly from the Kindle and iLiad. It is possible to get PRS-700 like screenshots from Sony's reader Windows software, and for the Hanlin V3 via SSH when using Open InkPot. An alternative is scans. My three year old HP all in one printer does a reasonable job of scanning EInk devices, see for example
BeBook font sizes and types. Scans are much more consistent than photos, although photos have their place too.
