What I haven't been able to determine yet is how a person can know if a particular book has two or just one format(s) included in the price. I'll keep looking around the website. There was an ebook that I was considering buying from them, in part because of thinking that I could get two formats for the price of one. If none of you guys responds first, I'll let the rest of you know what I find out.

I should have explained that. The listing for each individual book will tell you which formats are available. To the right of the "Add to cart" button and below the ISBN, there is a line that lists available formats.
The
NIV Study Bible, for example, can be read using their online reader or downloaded as an epub, but isn't available as a PDF. The description looks like this:
