The main utility in keeping the Keyboard is that it is new enough to support kf8 (from which DRM can be removed) and old enough not to support kfx (from which DRM cannot be removed). Having a Keyboard on your Amazon account means that you will still be able to obtain azw and azw3 files from which drm can be removed even if Amazon start making only kfx files available for devices which support that format. Mind you, the 1st generation Paperwhite which you have also does not currently support kfx, though presumably it would be easier and more likely for Amazon to add kfx support to this device than the older Keyboard.

If you're not concerned with removing DRM and you have no particular preference or affection for the Keyboard, there is no real reason to keep it that I can think of.
