The lack of SD card doesn't really bother me but the $59 charge to replace the battery after a year definitely urks me. I've never been a fan of having to send my device in to have something as simple as a battery replaced.

The lack of an SD card really bothers me, and let's not forget, with respect to the battery, the user is going to be (1) without his or her Kindle for the time it takes to send it into the factory, have it processed, and have it sent back, (2) stuck with the costs of postage - probably on top of the $59 replacement charge, and (3) expected to entrust their $360 Kindle II to the USPS, or pay a whole lot more to UPS or FedEx to ship it?
The more I know about the Kindle II, the more I love my original Kindle, and the happier I am that I bought three of them while I had the chance. I won't be "upgrading" until Amazon offers a product that actually is an upgrade. Not a downgrade with a facelift and makeup.
