Yes that is very strange, it is clear in your screenshot that the body of the 'j' has no anti-aliasing but the dot does. In the screenshot from my Glo the 'j' is anti-aliased the same as the other letters.
I see you are using the KePub reader, while my screenshot was from the ePub reader. Another difference could be the weight/sharpness setting, mine is at the default setting.
But for only the 'j' to be affected it seems like there must be domething different about that glyph in the font itself. Maybe it is something that can be fixed in fontforge.
