Didn't realize the NFL had become so politicized. I don't get to watch the games much. I don't even get to watch my Gators (Go Gators!) college teams play. I would assume the the NFL has espoused liberal, rather than conservative positions.
I do remember Bob Costas on some
sports show about 3 years ago spending our time (about 2 or 3 minutes of it) telling us what the government ought to do about a certain political issue. And, no, it had nothing to do with sports (except in a very, very remote way that Costas probably didn't even have in mind).
What I did notice (who could miss it) is the making of political statements by winners on various awards shows. That's the biggest reason that I don't watch those shows anymore. Question: just because someone can do a good job pretending to be someone else (i.e., acting), or belting out some songs, what makes them an expert on politics?
