Still the slowest (least responsive) part of the system is the eInk display. So maybe the business partners at Freescale realized that building them dual core processors will not improve anything. With the software as it is now, is there any second parallel process the device could be doing while waiting for the screen to update to speed up system responsiveness? I think not.

Having said that, the MAX as it is has an impressive page turn speed, at least in 1.8.x firmware. As I said, it is yet to be seen how this numbers will be kept or not with the higher resolution Carta display.

I believe that it is the software that is failing to replace the workflow with real paper, pen and books, not the number of cpu cores.
