I've not used the card slot of my H2O, but that doesn't mean others won't. The card slot does not get in the way at all. Buttons could maybe get in the way unless there was some way to turn them off. The buttons on the T1 did not get in the way, but then they were close to the bottom on the left side.
To be honest, I don't think we'll satisfy everyone. The buttons are going to be an issue. Use normal buttons and yes, they can be accidentally pressed. Use buttons (like the Voyage) and the cost is going up even more and that's not good when the user doesn't want buttons.
What I want more then a card slot or buttons is a heftier battery for more life between charges.

Nobody is going to release two devices that differ by SD card/buttons. That's two separate manufacturing lines, QA, FCC testing, ... That's also what companies do when they develop new hardware: they trial several, make their choices based on what they know of the market, and then ship the one they think will sell.
I propose that Kobo know a lot more about their market than us armchair experts :-)
But +1 on the battery life. I think the KA1's shorter battery life has really highlighted that ereader battery life is a really important feature to us, though it doesn't seem to have stopped Kobo selling out of the KA1 every time they get stock. Again, what do we know?
